Lucas began his career in banking with Northwest Bank in 2019 as a teller while still in high school. Starting at the Fort Dodge location, he gained hands-on experience in customer service and developed a strong foundation in financial services. An Iowa State University graduate, Lucas brings a strong background in customer-focused banking and a passion for helping individuals and businesses reach their financial goals. He takes pride in getting to know his customers, building lasting relationships, and providing solutions that are customized to fit their unique needs.

Kerry McGuire brings over 25 years of banking experience in Des Moines, specializing in both commercial and real estate lending. He holds an MBA from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Iowa State University.

Kerry is deeply rooted in the Des Moines community. He is an active member of the Des Moines Reciprocity Breakfast Club and serves on the board of the St. Thomas More Center and Dowling Soccer Club. He also contributes his time to youth development through coaching and his involvement with the Catholic Football League.

 Kerry and his wife, Renee, are proud parents of five children. His professional expertise, combined with his commitment to family and community, reflects his values of leadership, service, faith, and integrity.

Jason has been in banking for nearly 25 years, with a substantial background in mortgage and consumer lending.  Jason enjoys working with local businesses to help with their lending needs and enjoys watching businesses succeed with their goals.  Jason is a native of Spencer and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa.  He serves on multiple boards and service clubs, including Vice President of the Spencer Economic Development Corporation, Hope Church, Kiwanis, and many more.  Jason is a volunteer coach for multiple youth sports.

Jared Barnett was raised in Dallas, Texas. He graduated and moved to Iowa to attend Iowa State University where he specialized in Business Administration and Accounting. He also played Quarterback for the Cyclones and was an integral part of several big programs wins. Jared also earned his MBA at Southwestern College while coaching college football.

In his career, Jared has excelled in building and maintaining relationships with a client-centered focus to provide expertise to build processes to help clients achieve their current and future goals. Jared and his wife Marni, and two children Marshall and Charlie, live in Waukee, Iowa and are active members in the community.

Jared’s focus is on delivering sound, objective advice tailored to each client’s unique goals and values, rooted in transparency, integrity, and a commitment to providing financial peace of mind. Whether that’s preparing for retirement, managing investments, or planning for future generations. 

Jodi has been in banking since 2022, joining as a commercial lender. With a strong business background, she brings a unique perspective to the industry. Her entrepreneurial journey began right after college in January 1997 when she launched a multi-location dry-cleaning business, which she successfully owned, managed, and operated until selling it in January 2019. In 2010, Jodi expanded her business interests into residential real estate, where she continues to own and manage a portfolio of properties.

Outside of work, Jodi is a devoted mother to three children: Lauren, Zachary, and Scarlet. Lauren is a senior majoring in speech pathology at the University of Iowa, Zachary is a junior studying film and television at DePaul University, and Scarlet is a freshman at Southeast Polk High School, proudly performing with the RhythAMetteS dance team.

Jodi enjoys long outdoor walks and cherishes time with her children and friends. She is an active member of a book club, a wine group, and a birthday group. As a University of Iowa graduate, she has been a longtime Hawkeye football season ticket holder. Passionate about giving back, Jodi has served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in the foster care system since 2019. She was also recently appointed to the board of the Dollars for Scholars scholarship program for the Southeast Polk School District.

Laura joined Northwest Wealth Management in December 2024 as an Associate Advisor, with three years’ prior experience in the financial services industry as an Advisory Ops Specialist and later as a Senior Licensing & Registration Associate with Cetera Financial Group. As an advisor, she believes in taking a comprehensive approach to financial health, partnering with other professionals as needed to provide the best outcomes for clients.

A native of Augusta, Georgia, and a child of a military family, Laura graduated from the University of Georgia in 2004 with a degree in Music. She went on to earn a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music and spent several years as a music teacher and orchestral musician before relocating to Iowa, earning her Master of Arts in Teaching from Drake University, and teaching public school in the Des Moines metro area. Her wide variety of life experiences, combined with her passion for education, give her a unique perspective and an interest in helping clients at all stages of life, with a particular focus on helping people plan for retirement, save for higher education, and arrange for estate planning.

With over 10 years of experience in the banking industry, Tramy is passionate about working closely with her customers to provide them with personalized financial guidance. Throughout her career, she has built a strong foundation of trust and expertise, helping clients navigate their financial journeys and helping to make informed decisions that align with their unique needs. Tramy takes pride in fostering lasting relationships whether it's guiding them through account options, loans, or investments, her goal is always to offer the best solutions to support their success.

David earned his degree in Business Finance from Minnesota State University and graduated with honors from the Colorado Graduate School of Banking. He began his banking career in middle-market commercial lending in Denver, Colorado. In 2010, David and his wife moved back to Iowa, where he joined a family-owned community bank in Des Moines, overseeing the Business Banking and Government Lending departments. David later partnered with his father-in-law in the family business, Beisser Lumber Company, where he currently serves as President. David and his wife, Sarah, have a daughter, Gracie, and a son, Archie.

David emphasizes the critical role that community banks play in supporting local communities, a responsibility that Northwest Bank takes very seriously. He finds the most rewarding aspect of serving on the Board of Directors to be the opportunity to work with an organization that is dedicated to making a positive impact on its employees, customers, and communities.

 

Josh joined the Northwest Bank team in 2024 and is responsible for developing and servicing the bank needs of commercial businesses. Josh works with businesses of all sizes and has a passion for helping businesses meet their goals. Josh has volunteered with the City of Ankeny Parks and Recreation board and has been an Ambassador with the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce. Josh and his wife have lived in Ankeny for 29 years and Josh has been in banking for over 19 years. 

Derek has been in banking since 2012, specializing in the consumer, small business, and treasury management departments. He is a member of Soteria Church in West Des Moines, where he teaches children’s classes and serves on the mission’s team. Derek enjoys volunteering at Sunny View Care Center and teaching financial literacy classes for Junior Achievement in Des Moines. He also enjoys coaching and officiating youth sports. Derek truly cares about his customers and values a banking relationship built on integrity and trust.

Ashley brings several years of customer service experience to the Northwest Bank team, having joined in 2018. As a dedicated banker, her passion lies in assisting customers with their financial and treasury management needs.

Outside of work, Ashley actively supports the community by participating in networking and volunteer events and by visiting local small businesses. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as relaxing with her husband and their dog, Delilah.

Brett began his banking career in 2020 after graduating from Wartburg College with bachelor’s degrees in finance and economics. He joined Northwest Bank in February 2022 and has since been dedicated to building strong, long-term relationships with his clients. As a Commercial Banker, Brett provides a full range of business lending solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of clients across various industries and business sizes. He takes pride in exceeding expectations and demonstrating that banking with Northwest Bank means having a trusted partner you can count on. Brett is active in the community through his involvement in several professional and industry organizations, including Ankeny Young Professionals, West Des Moines Young Professionals, and the Des Moines Home Builders Association (DSM HBA).

Michael is a dedicated Wealth Advisor based in Sioux Center, where he helps individuals, families, and businesses navigate their financial journeys with clarity and confidence. A 2019 graduate of Spencer High School, Michael continued his education at Northwestern College, excelling both academically and athletically as a member of the football and golf teams. After graduating, Michael settled in Sioux Center with his wife, Madison. Together, they are raising their son, Gibson, and enjoy making the most of their family time whether at home or outdoors.

Michael is passionate about building meaningful relationships with his clients and providing tailored financial strategies that align with their goals and values. His approachable style and commitment to personalized service help clients feel supported and empowered every step of the way.

Beyond his professional role, Michael actively volunteers with SCENE, a local organization in Sioux Center dedicated to helping professionals connect and build strong community networks. His involvement reflects his belief in the power of collaboration and shared growth.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys golfing, hunting, and spending quality time with his family. He believes that a balanced, purpose-driven life leads to better financial decisions, and he’s dedicated to guiding his clients toward success, both financially and personally.

Jen's background includes over eight years banking experience with Northwest Bank as a personal banker, along with a Business Administration degree from Northwest Iowa Community College. Her responsibilities include setting up business clients with commercial deposit accounts, paired with Treasury Products and Services tailored to the specific needs of the business. She values the relationship of the customer and strives to provide top notch customer service.

Andrew has been in community banking for almost 15 years in many capacities with a focus on advising and partnering with commercial clients. Using Treasury Services including Online/Mobile/Digital Banking, ACH capabilities, Remote Deposit Capture, Positive Pay, Sweep Accounts, and Wire Services allows our clients to focus on their business and achieve their goals with efficiency and security.

Jason brings over 10 years of financial services experience to the Northwest Bank Team. As the Treasury Management Lead, he helps manage the sales team to achieve their goals while producing in the Omaha Market as well. Jason is an expert of our commercial deposit accounts and services that include: Remote Capture, ACH capabilities, Positive Pay, Online Account Management, Sweep Accounts and Wire Services. He is also a supporter of the community as an Ambassador and Young Professional for the Sarpy Chamber and the finance chair at St. Thomas Lutheran Church.

Sara Schweitzer brings a wealth of expertise and passion to her role as a Treasury Management Representative at Northwest Bank. Since joining Northwest Bank in 2020, Sara has been instrumental in helping numerous customers achieve their financial goals. With a commitment to personalized service, Sara is dedicated to building strong relationships with her customers and delivering tailored solutions to meet their business banking needs. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Sara actively participates in the Ankeny Young Professionals group and volunteers her time to mentorship through Big Brother Big Sister of Central Iowa, where she serves on the Big Impact Board.

With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Jeff is the premier banking associate to Northwest’s business banking customers. Jeff’s banking background includes both retail and commercial banking, which allows him to assist clients with daily banking needs and Northwest Bank’s electronic cash flow services.

Serving as Treasury Management Representative for the Shenandoah, Creston, and Afton areas, Carolyn Matzinger brings a wealth of experience and expertise to assist businesses with their financial management needs. With over a decade in banking, her background in municipal finance has equipped her with a specialized skillset to cater to the unique financial requirements of businesses and organizations.

Carolyn is a proud graduate of the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado, class of 2024. This comprehensive program has further honed her skills and knowledge, ensuring that she provides the top-notch service our clients have come to expect. She is passionate about helping businesses thrive by understanding their financial needs and goals.

Carolyn is actively involved in the community. She serves as a City Council Member in Northboro, Iowa, and holds the role of Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Charles Hockenberry Foundation. Carolyn also serves as an administrative liaison for the Board of Directors of the Greater Shenandoah Foundation.
