Northwest Bank is the SBA's 2011 Iowa Community Lender of the Year!
In recognition of the small business community’s contributions to the American economy and society, the President of the United States designates one week each year as National Small Business Week. Small Business Week 2011 honors the estimated 25 million small businesses in America with the theme “Empowering Entrepreneurs”. Since its establishment in 1963, the highlight of this annual tradition is the presentation of awards which focuses on the outstanding contributions of small business persons and champions at the district, state and national levels. The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced the winners of its 2011 Iowa Small Business Awards.
The Small Business Administration announced Northwest Bank as the Iowa Community/Rural Lender of the Year. Northwest Bank is a $833 million Community Bank with 15 locations throughout Northwest Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska and is recognized as an outstanding community lender, not just in northwest Iowa, where the bank was first established, but throughout the state as well.
Northwest Bank has committed to the growth and development of small business throughout the state by enhancing their business banking division. Their focus has been to hire some of the most experienced business bankers and analysts who specialize in understanding the financial needs of the business sectors in the communities they serve. Northwest Bank provides advanced banking technology that enables businesses to become more efficient in their operations while improving their financial security and serving their customers with greater ease. In the fiscal year 2010 they nearly doubled their approvals for $6.4 million which ranked them second among 7(a) lenders in Iowa for the year.
