Compare Our Accounts Before You Open

To apply online, you must be 18 or older, a U.S. citizen or resident alien, and have a U.S. address within the states of Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota or South Dakota. You also need a Social Security Number and U.S. driver's license or state-issued ID. 

* $100 Cash Deposit: Not available with any other cash back offer. Cash incentive is only available when you meet with a Northwest Bank Personal Banker and select 4 new products or services from the available list. Northwest Bank qualifying checking account is required. Qualifying accounts include Compass Free, Compass Digital, Compass Cash, Compass Rewards and Compass Relationship. The $100 incentive received is required to be deposited into your Northwest Bank qualified checking account. If you received the $100 bonus offer as a result of opening a new checking account, see below details on minimum balance to open, Annual Percentage Yield (APY), and minimum requirements to acquire APY. Additional details available upon request.

Qualifying Checking Accounts: Compass Free, Compass Digital, and Compass Cash: APY of 0%. Minimum balance to open is $10. Compass Relationship: APY of .85% on balances up to $49,999.99. APY of .95% on balances of $50,000-$99,999.99. APY of 1.11% on balances of $100,000 or more. APY higher on higher balances. Minimum balance to open is $10. You must maintain a total customer relationship (deposits and loans) of at least $50,000 to qualify for this account. Compass Rewards: APY of 4.07% on qualifying balances up to $25,000. Portion of balance over $25,000 will receive an interest rate of 0.05% resulting in 4.07% - 2.06% Annual Percentage Yield (APY). 2.06% APY based on a $50,000 balance. If one of the account requirements are not met, you will receive 0.01% APY on your balance. Higher balances have lower APY. To achieve qualifying balances, you must receive e-statements and do the following during each statement cycle: access online banking or mobile banking at least one time and make 12 or more debit card purchases. Minimum balance to open is $10.
